HISTORY
Château de Mercuès dates from the 13th century, but there was already a chapel here under Saint Didier, the first Bishop of Cahors, in the 7th century. It served as the residence of the Bishops of Cahors until the separation of church and state in 1905.

Be transported by the unique feel at the four-star Château de Mercuès, a wine-estate hotel in the Relais & Châteaux group. This beautiful medieval castle perched on a rocky outcrop overlooks the picturesque Lot valley and Cahors vineyards, giving exceptional views from every vantage point.
Stroll along the castle’s wide halls to find a small chapel hidden away inside one tower, or down the immense staircases to the underground cellar where our wine is aged. A perfect combination of elegance, gastronomy, fine wines and the beauty of nature.
Institut de Beauté Phyt's
Château de Mercuès offers you the experience of 100% organic face and body treatments in partnership with Institut Phyt's in Caillac. Open July and August from 9 am to 6 pm on weekdays and from 10 am to 6 pm on Saturdays. We organise your travel to and from the Institute. So relax!
DINING
Le Duèze Restaurant
Our refined cuisine is lauded in the major national and international guides, above all in the Michelin guide 2017 with one star. It pays tribute to the world-famous gastronomy of the Quercy region based on saffron, duck, lamb and black truffles, and was developed by our former Chef, Julien Poisot.
‘Le Duèze’ restaurant seats up to 100 in two spacious dining rooms. In summer, dinner is served in the royal courtyard. The restaurant proposes various set menus and a fine selection of gourmet dishes à la carte. The wine list showcases Georges Vigouroux wines, other great Occitania wines and French wines.

The castle offers winery visits and wines tasting.
