History
The Orgemont family, the Montmorency family, the Grand Condé, the Duke of Aumale… The Domaine de Chantilly has been fashioned over the ages by the many families who have lived there, and is proud to have welcomed kings and princes through the centuries. These illustrious families have shaped the estate, enriching it with monuments and works of art – the Condé Museum houses the second largest collection of paintings after the Louvre in Paris.
We can but admire this cornucopia of talent – from Vatel, organiser of extravagant banquets for Louis XIV, to Le Nôtre, creator of magnificent French-style gardens; not forgetting Jules Hardouin Mansart, who also worked at Versailles and Saint Germain en Laye, Molière, La Fontaine, La Bruyère, Madame de La Fayette, and so many others. The contribution of these remarkable figures has moulded the Domaine de Chantilly into what it is today.
The Domaine de Chantilly hosts numerous activities and events that keep the site very much alive. Visitors can experience culture, with the Living Horse Museum in the Great Stables; sport, with horse-riding, polo and golf; and nature discovery, with endless possibilities for walks in the surrounding forest. All this ensures that Chantilly will continue to enchant us for generations to come.

Outside, the spacious terrace is the ideal place to savour local, seasonal vegetables and produce, a feast of aromas and textures that will delight guests at the hotel and those visiting for the day.
