THE JOURNY
The journey starts from Porto, with a 9 hour travel through Portugal’s most magnificent countryside to the famous wine estate Alto Douro. Exclusive access to Douro´s most emblematic estate, the private Quinta do Vesúvio, including a Port wine tasting.

SAO BENTO STATION PORTO
Emblematic and unique, celebrating its 100th anniversary, the São Bento station is one of the most iconic buildings of Porto. It is renowned for its striking panels, composed of 20,000 tiles designed by painter Jorge Colaço. Here begins and ends this unforgettable journey.

 

 

THE CROWN JEWEL
The crown jewel of Portugal’s railway, the Presidential Train has hosted Kings, Presidents, Heads of State and Popes for over a century. Built in 1890, it served the court of King D. Luis I as the Portuguese Royal Train, transporting dignitaries like Queen Elizabeth II and Pope Paul VI. Renamed The Presidential Train at the turn of the century, it proudly transported Portugal’s Heads of State until 1970, when it was officially retired.

THE VESÚVIO WINE ESTATE
The Presidential provides the unique opportunity to visit the private Quinta do Vesúvio and authentically experience the largely lost art of winemaking. The enchanting Quinta is so special that it remains one of the few properties the Symington family chooses to keep closed to the public– which makes walking its grounds a rare privilege. The haunting estate has always stood out, and was also favored by Dona Antónia, one of the most iconic figures in the Douro history.
