YOUR PALAZZO VERONA
Born in Verona, I have vivid memories of this splendid Palazzo and the time I used to spend admiring it through the ancient Roman passageway of Porta Borsari. Today, the opportunity of having purchased it after 40 years spent abroad, dedicated entirely to the luxury hotel business, arouses two strong emotions in me: the first is clearly one of great joy, the second is being vested with a great responsibility to my city.
THE VISION
Palazzo Victoria today, with its inner courtyard in typical Veronese style, but also with the original Zen garden and with the spacious and definitely contemporary lobby, as well as with the spaces dedicated to leisure (our pool table is always ready for use!) aims to be a new square in Verona. A sort of agora which encourages different cultures to meet, inspired by the encounter between the different historical periods which can be clearly perceived inside the Palazzo. Undoubtedly elegant surroundings, but also pleasantly informal where technology, history and culture meet in harmony.
THE HISTORY AND LOCATION
Palazzo Victoria stands in the ancient heart of the city of Verona, which is today even more lively, just a few steps away from the Arena and directly on Corso di Porta Borsari, one of the main streets, full of elegant shops but also delightful restaurants and cafés, which ends in the sumptuous Piazza delle Erbe.
Palazzo Victoria represents the co-existence over a thousand years of arts, cultures and architectural innovations: starting from the ancient Roman remains, which can be seen under the hotel and which make our hotel the first museum to visit when you arrive in the city, to the medieval frescoes and the present day with the splendid hall in exquisitely contemporary style, furnished with the sofas and armchairs by Gaetano Pesce, the unquestioned Maestro of Italian design.
PALAZZO VICTORIA RESTAURANT
Olive trees, fresh flowers and herbs like rosemary, sage and basil diffuse their aromas throughout the restaurant. It is also possible to admire the Roman ruins underneath thanks to a modern and ingenious Plexiglas insert in the floor.
Symbol of a modern concept of a restaurant that is almost unique in Italy: at the center of the room there is an elegant and functional Show Kitchen which offers to his guests the emotion of seeing the Chef Carmine Calò and his team while cooking.
ROOMS & SUITES
Thanks to the enviable position, although right in the city centre, the rooms are spacious and flooded with natural daylight.
Precious materials, ancient techniques and age-old remains are combined with the warm colours of the fabrics and colours used and those of the typical local varieties of marble for rooms that from the very first approach bring the experience of the city within their walls. Some rooms offer incomparable views over the roofs of the surrounding historical buildings whilst others look on to quaint secluded lanes or the pedestrian street famous for the most elegant and refined shopping: corso di Porta Borsari.
