Placed in a fruitful plain 20 kms. far from Parma, Fontevivo Relais is an out-building of the famous Abbey, a representative monument of the Middle Ages art. Born in an ancient medieval monastery. The atmosphere is elegant and charming, quiet, comfortable and equipped with a wonderful panoramic view. Elegance served to the table
The Restaurant 12 Monaci is housed in the ancient refectory room with its elegant, austere and evocative surroundings. A series of stone columns divide the room into three aisles. With the right set-up, the room becomes a prestigious setting for cocktail parties, wedding receptions, parties with family and friends, business dinners, anniversaries and meetings. The cloister and interior room can accommodate up to 200 guests.
In the tradition of Parma
Our chef Andrea Nizzi offers original workings of classic Parmesan cuisine. The care taken in preparing dishes starts from the choice of ingredients, bought fresh every morning, only from trusted manufacturers, and extends to the study and testing of new cooking techniques.
As for meats, the typical ones from Parma stand out, from the prized Culatello di Zibello to the well-known Parma ham. The first courses are traditional to the Emilia-Romagna region: home-made pasta, topped with tasty sauces and broth.
For the main courses we have white and red meat, accompanied by tasty side dishes and cheese selections. Last but not least, the desserts: creams, sauces and compotes to finish each meal with a smile.
Stay at an ancient monastery
The three-star hotel has preserved the original architectural structure. The surroundings are elegant and charming, quiet, comfortable and with beautiful panoramic views of the Emilia-Romagna countryside. The 17 rooms - 11 single rooms and 6 double rooms, all with a bath - are housed in the cells of the old Cistercian abbey of Fontevivo.
