Granada and the Alhambra

Granada - the pearl of Moorish Andalusian
Take a walk through the historic Albayzin (the Moorish old town, opposite the Alhambra) and visit the "Mirador de San Nicolas," one of the best view in Albayzin. If you like it folkloric, visit a Flamenko show in Sacromonte, the gypsy cave quarter of Granada. Granada was first mentioned in the 5th century BC. Among others it was settled by Romans and Goths until the 8th century. This century brought the beginning of what would be centuries of Islamic rule and splendor in a variety of very different forms, of which the Alhambra is the by for most important and symbolic one. The Alhambra can be seen from the terrace of the Parador de Granada.

15th Century Convent
Spend a night at the site of the Alhambra, among gardens and fountains which recall a past where the Arabian merged with the Christian. This is the exclusive opportunity this Parador affords us, an ancient convent built on the orders of the Catholic Monarchs on top of a Nazrid palace, of which important remains are still conserved, such as the Nazrid Hall. This monumental complex offers the guest peaceful walks around the area and the city, while the building itself and its gardens invite you to discover a fantasy-like interior.

Numerous works of art and exceptional pieces of furniture decorate the Cloister and the interior rooms. In the dining room or in the coolness of the summer terrace, with exceptional views of the Generalife, Andalusian gazpacho, Granada-style beans and Santa Fé pastries are served.

Specialities and traditional dishes
Chilled Andalusian gazpacho.
There are magnificent views from both the dining room and terrace over the Generalife gardens, with succulent dishes such as Granada remojón (Cod with orange and olives), beans with ham, Santa Fe piononos, choto veal and, of course, typical local Andalusian gazpacho. Full of vitamins!

In the dining room and on the cool summer terrace, we offer Andalusian gazpacho, habas a la granadina (fava beans with artichokes) and piononos (sponge cake rolls topped with cream), which are originally from the small local town of Santa Fe. Come experience this idyllic spot, a magical city, a one-of-a-kind experience.
