The castle complex Mělník rises directly above the confluence of the river Elbe and the river Vltava, making it an unforgettable city center.

In the 13th century the castle was situated, which served as a seat for the Czech prince.

Later, it was converted into a renaissance castle. The family Lobkowicz had it since 1753.

The chateau rooms conceal immeasurable wealth - the works of Dutch painters, as well as representatives of the Bohemian Baroque - Petr Brandl or Karel Škréta. In addition, there are exhibitions of Czech viticulture and baby carriages.

The castle park offers a beautiful view of the České středohoří mountain range and Říp mountain.

In addition to the classic visit to the castle, one can also look into the wine cellars and taste excellent wines.

Occasional events include the age-old fair or the wine festival.
